Great news! Maybe now you guys can have a normal family relationship now. By the way what is "loose conduct" Is when they are sure you are doing something wrong but they don't know what it is?

My niece was DF'd -
by AK - Jeff indidn't want to hijack orangefatcat's thread - but it reminded me so much of the joy i felt just a few months back when my niece was df'd.. my only brother, a die-hard witness [ i confess, i was the one who brought him into the 'truth' ] died at age 46 just a little over two years back now.
two of his kids were still in the borg, and i was just fading at the time.
i never thought there was a chance that i would see them come out, as the good witch glenda [step-mom] seemed to have them in her grips and she was busy slandering us as 'apostate' to the kids.

Thank you for your replies. I now have a better understanding of what is going on. I know there are a lot of good JWs but I just don't trust them in situations like this. Their warped understanding of what the Bible says about eating blood costs lives. And those old farts at the top don't care. (like I'm telling you something you don't already know)

They seem to show up everyday. How do they find out there are jws in the hospital? Does the sick persons congregation call one near the hospital and inform them that there is a JW in the hostpital? Do you think they are not only there to encourage but also to monitor the blood issue? They irritate the hell out of me but it is certainly no time creat a seen. Nothing personal against them just listening to them talk about going to the hall, beening in the "truth" bothers me. But then they are JWs what do I expect?

Your thoughts about Wal-mart

Wal-mart's mentality sees a little cult like to me. They have pep rallies in the morning where they chant slogans. I guess this is cheaper way to get the employees to smile than good wages.
As for Trader Joes, where else can you buy health food and booze. What a concept! It was originally a liquor store. Joe had an employee who was into health food and suggested to him that they start carrying it at Trader Joes. Joe must have had an open mind because he said ok. I believe the first product they started carrying was Alta Dena Raw milk.

Abaddon: I live in Holland. We pay c. $4.55 a US gallon.
You guys haven't got a clue what expensive gas is if you ask me... why do you think we all drive around in tiny cars with tiny engines?
This is mine;
144001: It will be interesting to see how high gas prices will go before people who don't need SUVs stop buying them. ; In Southern California, the vast majority of the cars on the road are SUVs or large gas-guzzling pickup trucks. ; Gas here for 89 octane is just under $3 per gallon; when it hits $4 - $5 per gallon, I have a feeling that SUVs will be quite cheap, either new or used.
Good points guys. It is easy to blame Bush for everything but I think it is a little more complicated than that. Europians have always paid more for gas than us in North America and have always driven smaller cars. Years ago when I saw everyone going back to big gas gusslers I though we were heading for trouble again. No one learned from the gas shortages of the 70s. Most of my neighbors drive huge SUVs and complain about the price of gas. If we had gotten serious about the problem 30 years ago there would be more efficient vehicles on the road today. With countries like China becoming more developed their use of petroleum products is skyrocketing. There will be less oil to go around in the future so don't count on oil prices every going down. The days of cheap gas are probably gone forever. If we want cheaper gas we need to do more offshore drilling and more drilling in the Arctic Circle (my right wing views). We also need to drive smaller more environmentally friendly cars (my left wiing views). These are short term solution. For the long term we need develope vehicles that don't run on gas. It will run out.

Before the Brits try to take back the US they had better figure out how they lost India to skinny little guy in a diaper (nappy for the Brits).
I don't mind going along with Cleese's idea as long as he or one of the other Pythons becomes our first prime minister. If they don't work out we can through them out again.

Man Will Consume the Planet
by joelbear in.
man long ago left the natural order of things that keep the earth as a living habitat in balance and healthy.. he now manipulates the earth to make it bend to his wishes so that he can create paper (worthless profit), accumulate multiples of what he needs to survive and make himself as comfortable as he possibly can.. as the billions in the developing countries become more consumptive the world will eventually be used up.. that will be the true armageddon that mankind will face.

I think that it depends on where you are speaking of as to whether the world is over populated. The Mojave Desert no other parts of Southern California a big YES. Try getting to work on the 405, 91 or 5 freeways if you don't think there is a problem. I see very little planning that take the environment into consideration. I'm not taking about planning to save some rare rat. I'm referring to having things like green belts instead of urban squal for hundreds of miles. In a few years Southern California will be nothing but housing tracks from San Diego to San Bernardino. One of the main problems with this type of developement is that many of the areas with the best top soil for growing food will be covered by housing tracks. This is happening in other states also not just California.

I just have to try Mulan's breafast smoothie. I'm not saying I'm going to like it but I just have to try it at least once. As for today it's the Ultimate Breakfast Sandwich from Jack in the Box. Tomorrow I'll start eating better.

Did you blindly accept all the JW teachings?
by JH ini was the "good jw", that accepted everything they taught, without even thinking of searching to see if it was true.
and how could i have searched to see if what they preach was true?
i don't speak hebrew or greek.

Yes but I think there were reasons for it. They only find people who are at some unhappy point of their life. Happy well adjusted people don't become Jehovah's Witness. With all the love bombing going on I really wanted to believe these people had the truth so I think I let my defences down. Defences that would have normally made me more sceptical and questioning. Before I knew what was happening I was out there with a haircut a book bag and a suit. Once I was in it for a while I started noticing some things that didn't make sense but I did what I believe Randy refers to somewhere as pigeon holing the problems so I didn't have to deal with them.
